Dr. Hodges Speaks at KLA Assembly
On September 23, 2021, Chief of Staff Dr. Ellen Hodges from the Yukon Kuskokwim Health Corporation came to speak with KLA students about topics concerning the current Covid-19 pandemic.
Dr. Hodges shared with the students how vaccines work. mRNA vaccines are a relatively new technology and Dr. Hodges explained the safety procedures that were followed in the development of this new technology.
The students asked a variety of questions regarding vaccine safety, how long it stays in the body, and if some people should avoid the vaccine. Dr. Hodges addressed all the questions by explaining how safe the vaccine is due to all the data that has been collected.
KLA is grateful that Chief of Staff Dr. Ellen Hodges visited with the students to share this important scientific and medical information regarding the current pandemic.
