Students in auto repair classThanks to Gladys Jung Elementary School and Principal Couey, we were able to send a high school Senior to their school to work with students. Helen Noatak has completed all her required classes for graduation. Now, she is exploring career opportunities until that glorious day in May (graduation). After discussing it with our counselor and Principal Couey, we decided to let her work at GJE. She is there for 5.5 hours a day (community service). Helen is picking up some great real world skills such as being on time, being dependable, and professional attire. She is working with students, other staff, and she has a boss. She is loving it so much at the elementary school she is considering a career in education. WHAT A WIN-WIN SITUATION!!! Helen is gaining valuable skills and the field of education may gain another educator.

KLA - BRHS does it again!

Mr. Greason at BRHS has allowed 3 of our KLA students to join his Auto Shop class. Our students are learning important safety protocols. Soon, they will be able to fix cars. Coming soon... the KLA Garage!!!

The KLA staff and students are eternally grateful to all the Principals in Bethel that are working with us to give our students unique opportunities. We started this school year with no teachers and everyone has pitched in to make this a successful school year. We have had guest teachers. The high school has opened their doors to us. The elementary schools are helping us to get WBL off the ground. We are humbly grateful and hope that when we are fully staffed you will continue to help our small population of students succeed. If you have any other suggestions to make KLA great, please give us a call or send us an email. When KLA is winning, our students across the Kuskokwim Delta are winning and that warms my heart! <3
